Olympic Test Event Gymnasts Announced

Congratulations to Courtney McGregor from Christchurch School of Gymnastics and Mikhail (Misha) Koudinov from North Harbour Gymnastics who have been named as the athletes to compete at the Test Event, to attempt qualification for the Rio Olympics 2016.

NZ earned two country spots at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships held in Glasgow at the end of last month.  Medallists from Glasgow qualified directly to the Olympics, then the next best ranked gymnasts (after team rankings) up to 40 were allocated a country spot at the Test Event, for a second shot at earning a berth at Rio.

After a thorough and robust nomination and selection process conducted by GymSports NZ, Courtney and Misha were subsequently selected to attend the Test Event.
