An exerpt from the Belfast School newsletter:
My favourite 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games sport is gymnastics.
The New Zealand colours on the leotard are white, purple, pink, blue and silver.
The leotard is really sparkly. It looks awesome.
They don’t wear any shoes. They wear scrunchies in their hair and their hair is in a ponytail.
They walk and do heaps of hard tricks on the beam. They need hand guards to keep their hands protected.
When they go on the run up line they need to have a special kind of spray to put on the bar to get more grip.
There is special chalk that goes on the bar. It helps them get a better grip as well.
All of those things help the gymnastic people do gymnastics.
It would be really hard for me to do all of that stuff that they do.
I think the gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games are doing really good because of all the things that they do like
back flips on the beam.
