Frequently Asked Questions

Can we try a class first?

We run Have-a-Go classes during the school holidays so that children can get a taste of the classes before joining for the full term. Trampolining Have-a-Go runs at CSG West Campus at 12pm every weekday during the school holidays and gymnastics Have-a-Go at 1pm every weekday during the school holidays at both venues. $13.00 per session. Bookings essential.

For preschoolers we also run a drop in non-structured class on Thursdays and Fridays during term time at 10am at QEII and Mondays 9.45am and Friday 2pm at CSG West. $12.50 per session.

What are your term dates?

We generally start with the school terms and run 9 weeks for 1 hour classes and 10 weeks for 1.5 hour classes. Sometimes this changes slightly due to public holidays. Our current term dates can be found on our home page under Important Messages.

Do you have classes for teens and adults?

Yes, we run teen and adult gym drop in sessions. See the Teen & adult drop in page.

Do you run a holiday programme?

Yes, we run an OSCAR Holiday Programme. This runs for 1 week during each school holidays and 2 weeks during the summer holidays. The theme changes every holidays and you can attend any number of days you like. See Holiday programmes page. WINZ subsidies may apply.

What age can children start gymnastics?

Children can start gymnastics from walking in our preschool drop in class. Our structured preschool classes are from aged 2 and a half and Junior Jumpers trampoline from aged 3.

Do you have toilets and changing facilities?

Yes, we have toilets and changing facilities at both venues.

Do I have to stay and watch?

You can, but don't have to! (with the exception of preschool classes, where parents are required to participate/stay in the building)

Where are you? I thought QEII Park was gone?

We have 2 venues: QEII Campus and CSG West Campus.
CSG West is at 18 Watts Road in Sockburn. Watts Road runs between Blenheim Road and Main South Road.
QEII Campus is still where it has always been on QEII Park. We are the only thing left at QEII! (although we won't be for too much longer -  Avonside Girls and Shirley Boys High Schools will be on the park from 2019 as well as a new recreation and leisure centre) Come in the main entrance like you would used to, to go to the pools, then take a left.

How do I enrol my child?

You can either come in to the gym to fill in an enrolment form, call us on 03 3886616 for QEII or 03 3434950 for CSG West or fill one out online. Once we receive your online enrolment form we will let you know whether we have space in that class or whether you will go onto the waitlist. Selecting a second and third choice of class will increase your chances of getting a place.

Is there a discount if I enrol more than one child?

If you have 2 preschoolers in the non-structured classes you can enrol the second child for only $50.
Otherwise no, we are a non-profit organisation so keep all of our fees literally as low as possible so there are no further discounts.

What is the payment policy?

Payment for the term must be made in full before the start of the term. There are no refunds if you withdraw from or miss classes unless we receive 3 working days notice before the start of the first class. Refunds will attract a $15 administration fee.

What if my child has to miss a class?

For preschool classes we run catch up sessions in the last week of the term. For all other classes there are no catch-ups.

Do you have competition teams?

Yes, we have WAG (Women's Artistic Gymnastics) and MAG (Men's Artistic Gymnastics) competitive squads as well as competitive trampoline, tumbling and aerobics squads. Trampoline Talent ID Days are held every term at CSG West Campus. For artistic gymnastics we run Talent ID Days towards the end of term 3 each year, for the following year's competition season.
